Earnhardt Jr., Sauter, Fike fast in NASCAR Busch Series testing
Dale Earnhardt Jr. posted the day's fastest non-drafting lap as more than 40 NASCAR Busch Series teams tested at Daytona International Speedway on Friday, the first of three days of preseason work.Teams are preparing for the season-opening Hershey’s Kissables 300 on Feb. 18. Earnhardt Jr. is a three-time winner of the event.
During the morning single-car session, the third-generation driver put up a speed of 183.872 mph. He also had the second-fastest lap of the morning session – 182.452 mph – in his other Chevrolet.
Johnny Sauter, also in a Chevrolet, posted the top speed of the afternoon single-car session, at 182.552 mph. He was followed by Justin Ashburn, Earnhardt Jr., Aric Almirola and Kyle Busch.
