DOVER, Del. -- Carl Edwards arrived at Dover in hopes of scoring his first Nextel Cup pole, but when rain canceled the qualifying session, Edwards found himself answering questions about his tiff with Dale Jarrett last week.
Jarrett and Edwards tangled late in the Coca-Cola 600 when Edwards tried to bump-draft, nearly sending Jarrett into the wall.

FOX's nationwide audience of the race was treated to a live, blow-by-blow broadcast of an enraged Jarrett bumping Edwards' Ford during a later caution period.
Edward says he tried to apologize, but he said he didn't get far with Jarrett, who went on to finish eighth.
"I tried to speak with Dale Jarrett a little bit after the race and he really wouldn't speak to me in a normal manner," said Edwards, who finished third. "I have a lot of respect for him, and he knows that and it seems like he was just venting."
"[Edwards] ran into the back of me going down the backstretch and I'm not taking anymore of his bull," Jarrett said last week. "I was going as fast as I could possibly go and he just about turned me into the wall and I'm not going to put up with that."
Edwards said he saw things differently.
"I'm racing for the lead, he's racing to stay on the lead lap, I was essentially trying to bump draft him down the back straightaway and he flipped out and got really upset," Edwards said. "I think that's a little bit irrational in light of the fact that he crashed me at Martinsville and ruined my day.
"[He] apologized, I accepted it and didn't say another word."
This is Edwards' was second run-in with a Robert Yates Racing driver in the last month. At Richmond in the Busch Series event, he bumped Elliott Sadler on the final lap for the win.
"To be honest with you, I've thought about this a little bit, and I try to treat everyone with respect," Edwards said. "At the same time I race as hard as I can."
