Osas Ray Neely Memorial 75 at Tazewell Speedway

O’ REILLY SOUTHERN ALL-STAR RACING SERIES ROLLS INTO “THE TAZ” FOR THE 9TH ANNUAL “RAY NEELY MEMORIAL 75”

TAZEWELL, Tenn. – With construction causing the cancellation of last weeks racing program at Tazewell Speedway as guardrails were being placed above the turn 3 and 4 wall, track officials are gearing up for the Huntsville, Ala. based O’Reilly Southern All-Stars Racing Series 9th Annual"Ray Neely Memorial 75" scheduled for Saturday, June 25th.
Many of the nation’s “heavy hitters” of Dirt Late Model racing are expected to be on tap for the “Ray Neely Memorial 75” such as; Chris Madden of Gray Court, SC, Rodney Martin of Cartersville, GA., Jeff Cooke of Spartanburg, SC., Mark Vineyard of Knoxville, TN, Royce Bray of Hull, GA., Randle Chupp of Mooresville, NC., Shane Tankersley of Morganton, GA.
Several of Tennessee’s “Weekend Warriors” are also expected to defend their home turf such as the defending “Ray Neely Memorial” Champion Jimmy Owens along with Scott Sexton, Anthony White, Steve Smith, Ronnie Johnson, Billy Ogle, Jr., Stacy Boles, Bryan Hendrix, Jeff Wolfenbarger, Terry Wolfenbarger, Jack Trammell, Jason Trammell, Brian Smith, Gary Blanken, Jeff Treece, Mark Leach plus many more.
The 16 fastest cars will be locked into the feature after time trials with the next 6 positions being filled through last chance consolation races along with 2 provisionals given according to the 2005 series points standings.
Tazewell Speedway will also be taken up donations to help Anthony Burchett with medical expenses etc. Anthony Burchett, driver of the red and black No. 5 GRT Limited Late Model was injured in an accident during qualifying at Tazewell Speedway on June 11th and had to be air lifted from the race track to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Over the past week Anthony has had surgery to repair his injuries and is now in stable condition and well on his way to recovery. There will be a banner for the fans to sign on top of the grandstand area hill showing Anthony that he will be in the dirt racing community's thoughts and prayers throughout his recovery.
Along with the “Ray Neely Memorial 75,” Tazewell Speedway’s Limited Late Model, Modified Street, Pure Street and Four-Cylinder divisions will be in action.
General Admission on June 25th will be $20.00 with Pit Passes being $30.00. The Pit Gates will open at 3:00 and the Grandstand Gates will open at 4:00.
