Chubzilla’ signs two more sponsors
BEAR LAKE, Pa. -- Chub Frank of Bear Lake, PA, a regular on the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, has signed two additional sponsors for his 2006 campaign as one of dirt Late Model racing’s more popular drivers as he begins his quest for the 2006 World of Outlaws Late Model Series championship title. Joining the team is Lake Shore Paving of Jamestown, NY and Corry Rubber of Corry, PA. Chubzilla will be competing for the championship title driving his Lester Buildings, Corry Rubber, All Star Performance, Corry Laser, Slavic Corporation, Farr MotorSports, Lake Shore Paving, Custom Race Engines, Rocket Chassis #1*.
Lake Shore Paving is a very successful paving contracting company based in Jamestown, NY. “He’s a race fan and all they do is blacktop and they do a good job,” stated Chubzilla. “You know how expensive this racing is and anytime we can pick up a new sponsor it helps the racing program. We’re looking forward to having them on board. They’re a local company but they do the big jobs. It’s not a small company. It isn’t just go along and do your driveway, they do a lot of commercial and state and government work.”
Lake Shore Paving is located at 7 Osmer Street, Jamestown, NY 14701-2816 or telephone: 716.664.4400.
Chubzilla also announced the signing of long-time supporters Corry Rubber for another season. Corry Rubber Corporation is a small but highly technical ISO-9002 and QS-9000 certified business dedicated to the design and manufacture of elastomeric products through custom molding and extrusion.
“I think they’ve been with me ten years now and I’m happy they came back this year,” commented Chubzilla. “I’m real happy having Jeff Ferro and his family back with us. Jeff, his brother and Dad run Corry Rubber. They are a big help to our motor program and I couldn’t race without him.”
Corry Rubber is located at 601 West Main Street, Corry, Pennsylvania 16407 or telephone: 814.664.2313. Fax: 814-665-9155. Visit their website at: www.corryrubber.com.
After Chubzilla’s trip to Georgia and Florida he and the crew returned to begin construction of the new bodies and graphics package that will adorn the famed #1* with the all-new Lester Buildings colors and graphics. But Chubzilla and his wife, Mary, made a recent weekend trip to Las Vegas with their daughter Margaret and fiancée Norm where they were married this past Friday.
“We had a blast, had a blast!” proclaimed Chubzilla. “Especially since it was on their money (laughs)! It’s usually the other way around. Mary hit it pretty big so basically it was al free trip (laughs). But Norm is a good guy. I’ve known him a long time. He’s been around racing for a long time. He’s helped guys around here who run locally. The Lobb boys, John Venables when he used to race. He’d hang around with those guys.”
“He goes racing with us too. He was helping us when we won the World 100. He’s going to Louisiana with us in a couple weeks too. They don’t start lack topping until spring so he has some time to go racing with us before then.”
The World of Outlaws Late Model Series will next be in action Friday, March 17 at Baton Rouge Raceway in Baker (Baton Rouge), Louisiana followed by a Saturday, March 18 date at Fast Trax Motorplex in Chatham, Louisiana. Both events mark the first ever appearances by the WoO Late Model Series in the state of Louisiana.
Chubzilla and team will spend the next couple weeks preparing their 2006 arsenal of Rocket Chassis in the all-new Lester Buildings colors. The new graphics and color package, designed by Ron Slavic, is scheduled to debut at the March 17 WoO LMS race at Baton Rouge Raceway ushering in a new era for Chubzilla.
All new ‘Chubzilla’ merchandise is being produced by Ron Slavic and Slavic Custom Shirts & Decals, the official merchandise provider of Chub Frank Racing.
