Open practice scheduled Wednesday, March 8 at Volunteer Speedway
BULLS GAP, Tenn. -- Finally, after getting cooperation from Mother Nature with sunny days and no precipitation over the past week and a half which allowed the new dirt to be placed on the racing surface at Volunteer Speedway, track owner Joe Loven has scheduled an open practice for Wednesday, March 8 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. This will allow race teams the opportunity to get some track time in preparation for the 2006 season-opener, scheduled for Saturday, March 18.
Pit admission on Wednesday, March 8 will be $20. Anyone who wishes to come spectate from the grandstands there will not be an admission charged.
And don't forget the $10,000-to-win "Spring Thaw" on Friday and Saturday, March 24-25 during Bristol Motor Speedway NASCAR racing weekend.
NOTE: The Goodyear tires which the Limited (Crate) Late Model division will run in 2006 should be in either Tuesday (March 7) or Wednesday (March 8). You can call Volunteer Tire Inc. at (423) 378-5942 to see if tires will be available on Wednesday, March 8 at the track for open practice.
