Fastrak Series- Bulls Gap- $39,000.00 weekend!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fastrak Series 1st National/ Volunteer Speedway, Bulls Gap/ $39,000.00 weekend!!
(FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE) Headquarters, Carnesville GA 06/27/05
The Fastrak Champions Series head is headed to Bulls Gap TN this weekend for a double header July 1st Friday Night and July 2nd Saturday Night. This is the first time in history an event of this size has ever been held for “Pro Late Models”. With a total purse of over $39,000.00 this is sure to be one of the largest events in the entire country. “For our teams this is huge stated Lester”. Double National Points on top of that will certainly make this one of the most competitive events of the entire season. Both nights will be televised by channel 5 in Pikeville KY reaching at least five States plus over 19 radio stations as well. I can assure you the fans will see racing like it used to be. Like our new t-shirts say, “4 wide, side by side and sheet metal rubbin”.
The 3/8th’s mile, 34 degree banked and ninety foot wide surface will certainly prove to be a “hurdle” for a lot of the racers. I could not have picked a better place to hold our first ever “National” event stated Series CEO Stan Lester. Many people rate Bulls Gap as the second best track in the country only behind Eldora. The Series was just at Eldora in June and now headed to Bulls Gap for our first ever National event speaks volumes to what Fastrak is all about. Owners Joe and Phyllis Lovern along with General Manger Doug Gillenwater have been great to work with. I could not have asked for anyone to have been more help than they have been. John King from Fairway Ford stepping in for the “$1000.00 Fast Time Award” each night and Goodyear participating in the $1000.00 tire bonus each night have helped bring the event to this level. People are still calling and there is no telling what may happen between now and actual race day.
There will also be an incredible “fan appreciation” event for both nights at Bulls Gap. One lucky fan each night will receive a $500.00 cash prize per a drawing with their ticket stubs. Fastrak wants the fans to know we appreciate them and to know that we recognize that without them none of this is possible.
I hope all of our teams are really taking the advantage of the marketing opportunities with Fastrak. It’s unbelievable to have the opportunity to race at venues like these in only our second year. It’s exciting to say the least. I know several of our teams have been able to lock in pretty large sponsorship dollars during the 05 season. I know of several that have retained over $25,000.00 of sponsorship for the year. That’s big dollars to anyone in racing.
Two new Regions are expected to be announced for the Fastrak Series in the next few weeks. Calls have been coming in and it looks like our goal of having 6 Regions for 2006 will be met or possibly exceeded. Our goal of drivers first, tracks second and series last seems to be spreading quickly. Purses for Fastrak are being re-vamped for the rest of the 05 season. We sat down at the beginning of the season with the drivers and team owners and agreed on the pay outs for the year but none of us could foresee the future. Gas prices alone have affected a lot of teams traveling and we want to help all of our teams as much as possible. We will take the purse and add more money to the middle through 24th position hopefully helping everyone. I just appreciate the teams being patient and knowing that we are trying to do things that benefit them. There can’t be but one winner at each race and 23 other teams that finish 2nd or farther back.
