BROOKLYN, Mich. -- Scott Riggs said Friday that he hopes to continue driving the No. 10 Chevrolet at MB2/MBV Motorsports in 2006, but the decision hinges largely on the team's sponsorship situation. Scott Riggs has three top-10 finishes this season. Riggs' current sponsor, Valvoline, announced recently its plans to leave MB2/MBV following the 2005 season.
"We've got a couple different fish on the line, but we're trying to figure out who's going to step up and be the primary," Riggs said. "Luckily, we're in a good position because it seems like we've had a lot of calls from people interested in doing it.
"I just want to make sure everything's secure there. [MB2 Motorsports CEO and general manager] Jay Frye assures me it is. I feel like it is."
That's not to say Riggs, 34, isn't open to change.
"I'm listening to other people talk to me," Riggs said. "I think there's definitely opportunities out there, but I haven't sat down with anybody to talk about the future except the 10 car."
Riggs is currently 23rd in the Nextel Cup Series point standings.
"But I'm willing to listen and hear everybody out. I feel like we're finally getting our team and our people where we need it to be here. I have a year and a half invested and don't want to throw that away."
